"Specializing
in Memory Care"
Peace of Mind
|
Amber Wood is devoted solely to caring for residents
with memory impairment and Alzheimer's disease.
Every thought to detail has been given when designing
our care and specialized programs. We offer our
residents a home environment in a quiet residential
area. We foster within families a feeling of
peace of mind knowing that our premises are fully
secure and safe for their loved one to move about
freely inside as well as our outside our grounds.
Residents enjoy our walking paths full of activities
of interest, rest areas along the way, and inside they
benefit from our memory boxes allowing for easy room
recognition. |

Amber Wood welcomes family members to |
|
become involved in their loved one's care. |
|
Personalized Care
Amber
Wood strives to provide a high level of personalized
care. We want to know about our residents. We do an
extensive personal profile and life story using our
"forget me not" care model.
Our
caregivers function as "houseparents" for our residents
working daily to build relationships and provide a sense
of security. All staff are specially trained and approach
our residents calmly with an understanding of each
individual's unique needs in mind. In addition, we partner
with the Alzheimer's Association and implement their
campaign for quality residential care.
Devoted to Memory Care at Amber Wood
There
are many choices available today for memory and
Alzheimer’s care. To name a couple, there are nursing
homes and assisted living facilities with specialized
wings that are designated for those challenged with memory
impairment. Here at Amber Wood we are devoted solely to
memory care in a home like environment. We do not have a
special wing for memory care. Our entire residence is
designed to focus on caring for those individuals
with Alzheimer’s disease or other memory impairments.
Every thought to detail has been given with the memory
impaired resident in mind.
Features
We
facilitate a calm and quiet environment utilizing soothing
music and aromatherapy to create a soothing atmosphere. Our
atrium room provides natural light thereby, providing our
residents an opportunity to be closer to nature. This can
enhance the natural circadian rhythm which promotes more
restful nights. Residents will enjoy planting, calming
sounds, and visuals such as watching fish and birds.
Our
secured outdoor pavilion area has a butterfly garden.
There is seating situated along our walking path which
promotes physical mobility and decreases agitation thereby
allowing our residents to move freely.
We
also provide a guided indoor walking path with activities
of interest, color cues to redirect residents to the point
of interest while offering resting areas along the way.
Pictures are used as memory aids and promoting our
residents independence. While memory boxes are used for
room identification recognition.
Our
premises are fully secured for safety and we participate
in the Safe Return
Program.
We
provide services addressing all stages of Alzheimer's
disease.
Our
staff is fully trained to compassionately care for those
residents with memory impairment. We're able to
effectively and calmly handle personal frustrations.
Our
activities program is specifically designed to meet the
needs of individuals with memory impairment.
