Where you choose to live reflects who you are - your life and your personality.  It's a special place you make your own.  Assisted Living at an HCR ManorCare center can be that special place.

If you like living on your own, but need a little help from time to time, we can be a welcome answer.  Perhaps you need a little help with dressing or bathing, or a reminder to take medications.  Perhaps you'd just like to know that a good, hot breakfast will be waiting for you tomorrow, or that security is provided 24 hours a day.

Assisted Living at HCR ManorCare offers all that and much more.

As an "assisted living" residence, we provide a sensible mix of security and independent living.  Assistance and companionship are never more than a few feet away; but privacy and independence are always respected.

Social Interaction and Activities

It is more than your home, it's an active community.  Here, your days are your own, and you can spend them as you wish:  socializing with friends, or relaxing by yourself with a good book.  Joining in one of the many scheduled group activities such as an exercise or music class, or simply visiting over a game of cards.

You can fill your calendar with as many leisure activities as you want.  And our Social Director makes sure that you have many options to choose from.  Individual and group recreational programs include:

• Special events and theme parties.
• Community services projects such as making gifts for a local children's hospital.
• Evening activities, including movies, bingo and discussion groups.
• Outings, such as shopping trips and dining at your favorite restaurants.
• Weekly religious services.

Maybe you'd like to spend some time getting to know your new friends.  There are plenty of opportunities to interact with your neighbors.  We also have birthday parties and "Resident Socials".

Healthcare

Caring support is always here for you.  Resident Care Assistants provide day-to-day "assisted living" services including:

• Assistance with personal hygiene activities such as bathing, dressing and personal grooming.
• Supervising the administering and storage of medications.
• Providing additional care, as needed, during minor illnesses, including serving you meals in your room.

We also emphasize "wellness" - to help you maintain your independence and health.  And, if your needs change, we'll adapt to them.

If the need arises, our stall can call upon the licensed nursing staff from our skilled nursing center, where we have staff on call 24-hours a day.  We also have easy access to local physicians and hospitals.

Security

Our building features the most up-to-date safety features and security:

• Staff in building 24 hours a day.
• Routine visits.
• Door locks on your rooms.
• Locked and monitored exterior doors.

Rooms

Although rooms are nicely furnished, we encourage you to personalize your room - with favorite accessory pieces and furniture you've brought from home.

Our Assisted Living has semi-private and private rooms.  Rooms are also available with microwave ovens and mini-refrigerators.  Whatever your choice, your room becomes a special place - to relax, enjoy the sunshine and surround yourself with your own personal treasures.

Dining Services

Every day, three times a day, our residents get together in our dining room to exchange a friendly hello and discuss current events over a delicious meal, served at a beautifully set table.

The dining is gracious, the menu offers a choice of entrees, and the meals are always well-balanced and nutritious.

A convenient resident kitchen makes it possible for you to prepare a light meal or group dinner if you wish.  We can also bring your meal to your room, if you're not feeling well.

We also offer:

• Holiday dinners.
• Sunday brunches.
• Theme dinners, parties, cookouts and more.
• Meals for guests, with a minimum of notice.

Quality with Affordability

Accommodations are arranged on a month-to-month basis.  There's no long term lease.  No "endowment".  There are no admission application fees.  You simply pay a monthly rent.

Housekeeping and Laundry

You'll find all the comforts of home and plenty of personal assistance.  Housekeeping and laundry services are provided for our residents, including:

• Making beds and emptying wastebaskets daily.
• Cleaning rooms and bathrooms weekly and more frequently when needed.
• Changing linens and towels.
• Nightly turn-down service, if you choose.

Laundry rooms with washers and dryers are also available for your use, or you can arrange to have laundry done for you.

Beauty and Barber Shop

Barbers and beauticians are available for trims, sets, perms and other services - a convenience that saves our residents extra trips to a community salon.  Your own personal hairdresser may also arrange to use the shop facilities.

Transportation

In addition to trips for shopping or community activities, transportation can be arranged for physician's appointments and therapy services.  Just as the manager.
